Scott started racing in his youth both as a cross country runner and BMX biker. Racing has been a part of his life for as long as he remembers, and it is what he loves. After years away from toeing a starting line due to family and work, Scott decided to make his return to competition. Triathlon was the perfect fit, but like many new triathletes, swimming was the barrier to entering his first race.
Scott joined Evolve shortly after the inception in 2015 after having previous coaching experiences that were not meeting his needs. As an Evolve athlete Scott went from battling major open water anxiety to racing with confidence across all three disciplines. Scott is a student of triathlon and applies the latest principles to his athletes in a way that helps each athlete be their best version of themselves. Whether finishing strong with a smile on your face, or on a podium is your goal, he will develop plans to meet your goals.
Scott has raced a mix of races from local sprints (these are some of his favorites), National Championships to Ironman distance.
Scott loves working with clients that want to improve their overall nutrition, race day fueling and working through open water challenges.

Mark got his start in endurance sports while attending university. There he played on the ultimate frisbee team that was ranked 16th nationally. Traveling to and hosting tournaments where teams would play 4 to 6 games in a 3-day period. During a single game a competitive player runs up to 5 miles. Over a 3-day tournament by the final bracket championship game the team with the best conditioned athletes would take the crown. After graduation Mark moved to triathlon and marathon racing. He joined Evolve as an athlete in 2020 after years of self-coaching. “I had plateaued and knew a coach was needed to align my training, racing, and nutrition with my goals and expectations.” That is exactly what occurred and Evolve was 100% the reason for that progress.
He started doing triathlons in 2014 and since 2020 Mark has finished in the top 5% of athletes. In 2023 he finished 4th out of 108 in his age group at Ironman Gulf Coast 70.3. He has completed more than a dozen Half Iron 70.3 distance triathlons and marathons. Most recently running Boston and prior to that the Chicago marathon on three occasions. He loves balancing his work load, family life, service opportunities, and travel with his training. It truly is a balancing act.
During quiet moments Mark can be found reading books or watching instructional videos on nutrition, swim stroke efficiency, or anything else related to triathlon. The goal is to extend his competitive years by learning and incorporating correct nutrition and training techniques. Learning to listen to the body and then imbed good habits and strength into training is his passion. Passing that knowledge on and helping others achieve their goals is just as much of a passion. Mark loves working with and seeing the progress in those he mentors and coaches.
